Call for proposal Interdisciplinarity in Global Contexts

AIS Conference, 24-26 October, 2019

17 December 2018

From 24-26 October 2019, the annual AIS conference will be hosted for the first time in Europe, by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), The Netherlands. The Association for Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) is the first international professional organisation for interdisciplinary researchers, educators, students and administrators and founded in the USA.

Conference Theme

The theme of the conference will be ‘Interdisciplinarity in Global Contexts’. Since a defining feature of interdisciplinarity is not to abstract or isolate problems but rather to approach them in their real-world contexts, this conference theme asks participants to consider the global and local contexts of inter(or trans)disciplinary research and education.

Call for proposals

You are invited to send in your proposal here. Or check out the first videocall for the session 'Teaching Interdisciplinary Research Methods' by prof. Iris van der Tuin. We are especially looking for proposals that can start a debate, encourage audience involvement and a lively dialogue with all participants.
