Master Forensic Science

On this website you will find information how the Master’s Forensic Science combines providing forensic education with providing a platform for forensic scientists and forensic practitioners.

The mission of the Master’s Forensic Science is to train scientists with a broad forensic insight who can answer forensic questions from a sound basis in a scientific discipline, who can stimulate innovations in forensic science, and who can evaluate and strengthen the role of forensic evidence in the entire forensic chain of evidence. We train students thoroughly on cooperation and communication with experts as well as non-experts, giving graduates the ability to build bridges between different disciplines and the different partners involved in the forensic process.

Just as much as we challenge our students to become bridge builders, the Master’s sees it as a responsibility to bring all partners from the forensic process together regarding essential themes for forensic science. From the very beginning, the Masters’s programme has closely cooperated with the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI), the Dutch Police and representatives of the judicial system. The strong collaboration with the Co van Ledden Hulsebosch Center (CLHC) ensures access to the latest scientific developments and cutting edge research.
