Fieldwork and archival research on Curaçao

The pre-doctoral scholarship allows Isenia to conduct fieldwork and archival research on the island of Curaçao. Isenia’s doctoral research examines a wide range of cultural and artistic practices from this region, in order to provide the ground for a nuanced qualitative and interpretive analysis of non-normative sexualities in the Dutch Caribbean in the 21st century. 

Isenia will present his initial research during a symposium in Leiden on 28 October 2016.
