2 March 2021
The theme of the fourth online edition of the National Interdisciplinary Education Conference on Friday, 12 March 2021 from 3 PM - 5 PM (Central European Time) is Arts-Science collaborations.
Whereas in previous times Arts and Science were almost separate fields, nowadays they are more in interaction with each other. Example are the developments of STEAM (STEM + Arts) and the use of creative and design methods in academic work. In this edition, we hope to gather insights into and best practices of the valuable role of the Arts in academic research, teaching and learning.

The National Interdisciplinary Education (NIE) Conference is an annual event for educators, researchers, policymakers, and students who are active in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary programmes at Dutch universities, university colleges, and universities of applied science. We want to stay in touch and grow as a community of interdisciplinarians and transdisciplinarians and to exchange best practices and ideas. We, therefore, organise a series of online meetups and seminars. An initiative of Teun Dekker (Maastricht University), Merel van Goch and Iris van der Tuin (Utrecht University), and Linda de Greef, Machiel Keestra and (University of Amsterdam).
