Project-based learning

Time to be innovative

Do you, as a teacher, have ideas for new forms of project-based education to implement, or to translate existing educational concepts to your course? This IIS grant offers the opportunity to experiment and develop your ideas to impart project skills to students in an innovative way. Depending on the proposal submitted, up to 80 hours are available per project.

How to apply and for whom are the grants intended?

  • You are a lecturer or team of lecturers teaching one or more courses at the UvA and are (partially) responsible for the development of a course;
  • You are interested in educational innovation;
  • You are prepared to share your own knowledge and inspire others;
  • You hold a position at the UvA for at least 0.5 FTE, which will last (at minimum) for the duration of the project;

Available grants
The grants will be made available for courses scheduled to begin in block 6 of semester 2, and block 1,2 and 3 of semester 1 of the 2020/2021 academic year. A maximum of 80 hours is available for each grant; the precise amount will depend on the proposal submitted. These hours will be in addition to the hours already assigned for this course by your department.
