Around the world, cycling is embraced as an important ingredient to tackle a wide variety of individual and societal challenges. At the same time, there are large differences in developments across time and space that allows for a better understanding of potential causal relations. 

The case of the Netherlands is often seen as ‘best practice’, in part because of its matured urban cycling environment and high participation rates. 

Using Amsterdam as a ‘living lab’, we will analyse cycling in relation to spatial, ecological, historical, social, cultural, economic, and political structures. This blended learning Honours course incorporates the state-of-the-art knowledge that emerges from research and practice on the Dutch cycling system.

Registration

Registration is open for first-year, second-year or third-year Bachelor's students participating in an Honours programme. Between 29 November 10 am and 6 December 11 pm, you can register by completing the online registration form that will appear on Honoursmodules IIS. Placement is random and students will hear before 20 December they are registered.
