Set in a world only minutes from our own, "Black Mirror" unveils how modern technologies can backfire or be used against their makers. The Netflix sci-fi anthology series explores a twisted, high-tech near-future where humanity's greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide. In this course we’ll use several episodes from this series to help our collective imagination. Different disciplines will shed their light upon what the consequences of the growing digital presence in our society are. How will new smart and great inventions impact the way we live our day to day lives? What are our ethical markers in the digital world? What will super digital intelligence do with what it means to be human? Why do we feel anxious or threatened by this development? How should governments react and what is the role of civic society in all this?
