Last week, many students and employees of the UvA cast their vote for the Create a Course challenge 2025. Find out in random order which students received the most votes for their course idea and, as a result, secured their spot in the grand finale on 25 November on Roeterseilandcampus.

The five ideas that proceed to the grand finale:

  • "Body and Biases: AI and Data Inequality in Healthcare" by Abhisree Bhattacharya & Rucha Kulkarni
  • "Master the Art of Failing Successfully" by Carol Murphy & Amelie Woitow
  • "Political Journalism Practices in National and International Context: Comparing Perspectives and Practices" by Giulia Wagner & Anthony Massimiliano Omodei
  • "Skills Lost in the 21st Century" by Sinja Horster & Amine Challouf
  • "The Politics of Being Heard: Persuasion Without Status" by Maria Tsvetkova

Review the descriptions to their course here. Curious who will win? Join the finale, tuesday November 25th, from 5 – 7 PM (Central European Time). During the grand finale, the jury decides which course idea will be rewarded with the realisation of the course. The winner will then further develop the course together with the IIS. Next academic year, the winning course will be on the UvA curriculum as an elective course open to all UvA students.
