"Without connection, the process of conveying and learning does not happen." Apt words from Emeritus Professor René Smits (FdR) who was elected UvA Lecturer of the Year 2020. In doing so, he won a Carte Blanche for setting up an interdisciplinary lecture series for the IIS. This resulted in the Honours module Connection in which the theme connection takes centre stage. René talks about the development process and the result of a special lecture series.
