Tjerk Jan works on transformations in healthcare at the intersection of individual health and the sustainability of healthcare systems. He co-creates educational and research programs to promote the transformation towards care for health. After graduating as a neurobiologist, he obtained his PhD in political science. His dissertation is about persistent problems in Dutch healthcare. His research career then focused on addressing of these complex problems through transdisciplinary approaches. As a lecturer, Tjerk Jan developed a wide range of (honors) courses on the interaction between science, technology, and society.
