The university is increasingly central to society. This calls for education that goes beyond mere knowledge transfer. Students need to learn not only what they know, but also how they relate to what they learn - and to the world they live in. This is why affective learning is gaining importance in university education. This helps students develop the skills to contribute to an inclusive and equitable society. The Special Interest Group (SIG) Affective Learning is a network of lecturers and education professionals at the UvA. Within this SIG, colleagues from different faculties come together to exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences, develop new teaching and testing formats and reflect together on how we can guide students in their personal and social development

This Special Interest Group (SIG) is a collaboration between the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies' Education Lab and the Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) and is part of the Comenius Leadership project Empowered Minds. Together, we organise interactive meetings, workshops and inspiration sessions.
