How our future belongings will be shaped is connected to the emergence of the new humanities. The new humanities offer an understanding of posthuman being beyond humanistic study. It includes our interdependence to the life world, the meaning and value of health, medicine, and therapy, and the increasing interwovenness with technological developments, such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Blockchain. How do these developmens change who we are, and who we want to be?

This course discusses raises fundamental epistemological questions, such as "What is science?" and how our understanding of knowledge informs our sense of belonging. Furthermore, we will look at the emerging field of psychedelic humanities, as well as intercultural humanities, to understand how our frameworks of understanding community and belonging are shifting. Students will reflect on the role of technology, environmental change, and healthcare in shaping future communities, and the course encourages creative thinking about who we are and where we belong in the world, now and in the future.
