Have you ever wondered if there is more potential to learn – in different ways – about how to be humans in today’s and tomorrow’s world? How the university could be(come) a place of nourishment, mutual growing and joy – rather than an overheated, competitive “learning-factory”?
This course facilitates a co-creative learning process, in which we radically explore existing patterns and promising alternatives in the broad field of “education and learning”. The course works with Regenerative Development Theories and regenerative education design approaches and pedagogies, as developed in the recently published book The Art of Regenerative Educatorship (2025).
We will collaboratively explore how (UvA/university) education currently ‘operates’; reflect on underlying paradigms informing current thinking and practices; and spot unfulfilled potential and work on (re)designing your/our education roles. We explore and actively reflect on three interconnected routes for regenerative learning: an inner, community and whole system path. Rather than finding or expecting answers along the way, we will work on our collective “question-ability”.
Dr. Mieke Lopes Cardozo & Dr. Koen Wessels
