Embark on a captivating journey through the universe. From the origins of the cosmos to the formation of Earth and the unique conditions that allow life to exist—we will explore it.
This course will delve into the key subjects of astrophysics: the universe, galaxies, stars (including black holes and neutron stars), exoplanets, and the planets within our solar system. You will gain insight into how the universe's history led to the creation of the chemical elements of which the Earth and life on Earth are made.
We will also examine how we acquire this knowledge, exploring the scientific methods used and their reliability, while touching on philosophical questions and include elements of the history of science. If stars align, we will organize an excursion to the ARTIS Planetarium or another relevant location based on ongoing astronomical events.
